Happy New Year!

It was a wonderful week as our community reunited and shared stories of holiday revels.  The children are coming easily back into the rhythm of their school days and seem genuinely pleased to see each other and happy to play and work.

As we move deeper into the Winter I wanted to share a post from the Parenting Passageway about finding rhythm in our lives as parents.  Although it's written to mothers it applies equally to fathers and I hope it will inspire each of us to care for ourselves as we care for our children.

- Sample Session

- Sunday, January 13th 10-11:30 AM

The Sample Session is an opportunity for parents and their children over the age of two to spend time in one of our classrooms, meet our teachers and learn more about our unique approach to early childhood education.  Sample Sessions are limited to six families.

Topic:  Parenting Tool Box Necessities: Authenticity, Imagination and Rhythm

Please join us for a lively discussion about these important tools and how you can cultivate and use them in your parenting!

Greta Jee is one of our lead teachers in the Kindergarten.  She has a Bachelor of Arts from Washington College and both Waldorf Certification and Masters of Education with a focus on Early Childhood Education from Antioch Univerity in New England.  Her focus on Early Childhood Education at Antioch included several training modules at Sophia's Hearth Family Center.

New Winter Parent-Child Classes

We have added two new classes to our Winter Parent-Child schedule! 
Tuesday 9:30-10:30 AM for children 7-10 months of age.
Tuesday 3:30-5 PM for children 18-24 months of age.

Winter 2013 Parent-Child Schedule:

• 7-10 months of age (non mobile) meets on Tuesdays from 9:30-10:30 AM Space Available
• 11-16 months of age (mobile) meets on Mondays from 1:30-3 PM ($520) Space Available
• 15-22 months of age meets on Wednesdays from 1:30-3 PM ($585) Full
• 18-24 months of age meets on Tuesdays from 3:30-5 PM ($455) Space Available
• 22-29 months of age meets on Mondays 3:30-5 PM ($520) &/or Wednesdays from 3:30-5 PM ($585) Full
• 30 months of age and older meets on Saturdays from 9-10:30 AM ($585) Space Available

Classes meet on the following dates:

• Monday 1/7, 1/14, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11, 2/25, 3/4 & 3/11
• Tuesday 1/22, 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, 2/26, 3/5 & 3/12
