Help Spread the Word About our New Afternoon Nursery Program!

Space is still available in our 2013-14 Afternoon Program and we need your support to help get the word out about this wonderful opportunity for children between 2 years 10 months and 4 years of age.

The Afternoon program focuses on the nurturing of the children's body and spirit. We start the day outside, working in the garden and experiencing the seasonal environment. Upon returning to school the children will share in a hearty lunch that their teacher has prepared with organic ingredients. After lunch the children will have rest time which will help them digest the experience of their day. When they awake they will move on to the daily activities such as drawing, water color painting, seasonal crafts, free play, puppet shows and circle.

The program will meet 5 afternoons a week, noon-4 pm

Every time you share your child's experience at the school you help our community to grow and flourish!  Thanks so much for all your continued support.

Imagination and the Young Child

Please join us for a discussion as we look into ways in which a young child learns through imagination.

In cultivating the young child's imagination our own imagination plays an essential role to supporting their development and igniting love on their journey to themselves and the world.
How do we strengthen the " living" quality of our own imagination?

Speaker Lisa Bono currently teaches our Bridge and Parent-Child classes.  She is also the founding teacher of the New Amsterdam Early Childhood Center.

The Marketing Committee needs your help!

The Marketing Committee is looking for volunteers to help with some specific projects.

Firstly, for our important and exciting project of updating the website we need :
  1. Someone who has the time and expertise to transfer all the data from the current website to the new Wordpress platform (estimated to be approximately 8 - 10 hours work)
  2. A copy editor to ensure consistency of tone of voice throughout.
  3. A visual designer or design team who can work on refreshing and updating the look and feel of the website and helping us create a beautiful engaging website that effectively represents the school and our aspirations for the future.
Secondly, we are looking for someone who can take on the role of organizing the production of our printed material (postcards, leaflets etc). This would involve sourcing print partners (good quality, cost effective, reliable) and coordinating the production process. If anyone has any print resource they could recommend that would also be helpful.

Thirdly, we need help with distributing our printed marketing material. We would like to ask the whole community to consider where they might be able to distribute postcards and fliers (doctors offices, kids clubs, local stores, like-minded notice boards etc) to reach a wider audience. We'll remind everyone again when we have some material to distribute.

And finally, we would love some new members on the committee. This is an important and busy time for the school and there will be much for the Marketing Committee to be doing over the coming year, so we would love some more hands.

Please contact 3-day nursery parent Jennie on Jennie@soulsomefood.com if you can help in any way.

Thank you all for your support.
