2014-15 Robin's Nest/Extended Day Survey

This year's Robin's Nest program has met the needs of many of our families.  We conducted a survey last spring and it helped us make the decision to extend the program from 3 PM to 3:30 PM.

This year we are looking at the possibility of offering an extended day option that would allow children to stay past 3:30 PM.  We are asking all families who will be in our 2014-15 morning drop off programs to complete a brief Robin's Nest/Extended Day Survey so that we can better understand the needs of our community.

Thank you!

If you have any questions please contact me at Karen.Talluto@newamsterdamchildhood.org.

Warmly,

Karen

DOLL MAKING WORKSHOP
The Craft Cooperative is revving into gear to create lovely things for the Spring Fair!

This month, for the official Craft Collective Workshop, we will be holding a Small Doll Workshop to make these cuties. There is no charge to attend the Workshop to make a Root Baby for the school, and a Suggested Materials Donation fee of $20, if you would like to keep your lovely craft. February Parent Lecture: Elements of Circle Time: How Circle Games Support Your Child’s Development

Monday, February 24th at 7 PM

Please join us as we look at specific elements of circle time for children between 3 and 6 years of age and how we weave these elements together to create a joyful experience that supports your child’s development.  We will discuss ways in which circle play influences physical, social, and cognitive development while directly experiencing these aspects through movement.  This will be a participatory event, so please come prepared to move!

Speaker:  Elea Robinson joined our faculty in 2010 and is the lead teacher in our Kindergarten.  She completed her Waldorf early childhood teacher training at the Sunbridge Institute and earned a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the New England Conservatory.
